He Knows {part 2}

“Oh.. I see,” said Niel. He slowly moved backwards and head out to go home.

Hyerin suddenly popped beside Nana. “That was beyond my expectations.”

Nana looked at Hyerin. “What did you expect?”

“I was hoping that he would be like ‘OH! I look like him!’ but well, I guess not,” Hyerin chuckled and walked outside. “Aren’t you going home?”

~~~~~
“So now he knows how Daniel looks like. You think he’ll realize?”
Nana looked up to Minji for a second, then get back to her pudding. “He knows. I guess.”
“What are you going to do next?”
Nana shrugged. “I don’t know. It’s still early in the morning. I can’t make any sudden moves. I don’t want to make it obvious. People will get suspicious. And other friends would find out. Most likely… Eunji will find out too and that wouldn’t be good. I can’t imagine how it would be. She knows, then she hates me. Or she knows, and doesn’t give a damn. Or… she knows and..”
“Stop thinking and making various speculations, Nana. You’re doing good for now,” said Minji, encouraging her.
Nana nodded and smiled. “You’re not coming with us to Sunmi’s house?”
“Who’s coming?”
Nana looked to the ceiling and raised her fingers to count. “Hyerin, Kyungmi, and I. The three of us.”
Minji smiled and shook her head. “Nah, I have extra lessons. Have fun then.”
~~~~~

“I am so bored.”

Nana was lounging on Sunmi’s bed, with Kyungmi busy with her BlackBerry, and Hyerin doing nothing. Sunmi came into her room after taking away the dirty plates after their lunch.

“Hey Sunmi, you’ve got cards, don’t you?” asked Hyerin.

Sunmi nodded, opened her bag and threw a pack of cards to the bed.

“Yeah! Let’s play!” said Kyungmi.

“And let’s make it even more fun! Whoever loses, must tell their secret. We can’t do truth or dare here, there is no dare to do,” suggested Nana, getting up and hugging a plushie.

“Agreed. I’ll shuffle the cards…” said Hyerin.

25 minutes later…

“Nana, you’ve lost twice. You must tell your secret to us!” Sunmi shuffled the cards while looking at Nana.

Nana pouted. “Hmmm, make it three loses and THEN tell a secret.”

“Fine, I’ll bet you lose this time too,” Kyungmi put aside her BlackBerry and started sorting out her cards.

Turned out that Nana managed to win the third game, but not the forth. Added up all, she has lost three times. Sunmi and Kyungmi insisted Nana to tell her secret, while Hyerin kept silent since she knew all already.

“What must I tell,” said Nana, pretending to be distracted.

“About your crush. Remember when we played truth and dare at school? You said you have one in our class. Who is he?” Sunmi shuffled the cards once again.

“Fine. But promise you two wouldn’t tell anyone,” Nana glared to her buddies.

“Pinkie promise!” said Sunmi.

Nana smirked. “And you?” asked Nana, shifting her eyes to Kyungmi.

“Relax Nana, I won’t tell anyone.”

“Okay. It’s Niel.”

“What? Oh so you’re starting some sort of competition with Eunji?” asked Sunmi, half surprised.

“I knew it was him,” said Kyungmi confidently. “I just know from your acts to him at school.”

Nana looked a bit panic. “Am I that obvious?”

“I just know,” said Kyungmi in a definitely somehow irritating way that made Nana felt uncomfortable.

Nana knew that Kyungmi can’t keep a secret. She has seen Kyungmi telling people about other people’s secrets, something you shouldn’t do especially after you promise. Even though you haven’t promise, you don’t go around telling people about your friend’s personal things. Nana knew that Kyungmi was unreliable, but Nana thought that she has promised this time, so it’s fine.

“Promise me, Kyungmi. You won’t tell anyone else, ESPECIALLY Eunji and Niel himself,” pleaded Nana.

Kyungmi looked at Nana. “Why? Isn’t it better for Niel to know?”

“Well not now, okay. This has just started. I am enjoying this current situation, where nobody seems to know about it. It feels safer. And I mean it, so promise me,” Nana looked serious as she glared at Kyungmi.

Hyerin and Sunmi watched carefully.

“I won’t tell anyone, why won’t you believe me?”

Because I’ve seen you spill secrets to people…

“Fine. I believe you. You promised alright,” Nana sorted out her cards while thinking she has done the right thing or not.

Sunmi got up and sat next to Nana. “Do you want me to help you out? To make you two closer…”

Nana stared blankly at Sunmi. “You’re close to Eunji. I thought you would rather help her than to help me…”

“No, don’t!”

Sunmi, Hyerin and Nana all looked at Kyungmi.

“I mean, yeah, help Nana but not in an obvious way. She said she doesn’t want anybody to know,” said Kyungmi, awkwardly.

I smell something fishy.

“I can do that,” said Sunmi. “So what do you say, Nana?”

Nana smiled. “Thanks, Sunmi. It’d be my pleasure.”

Hyerin looked at Kyungmi silently then looked at Nana. She gave a slight smile to Nana as she did her turn and they continued playing.

~~~~~
So now Kyungmi and Sunmi know. I’m glad that Sunmi is faithful enough not to tell Eunji about this, but I doubt Kyungmi. She really can’t keep secrets, I know that. I just wish everything would be fine and no one else would find out. But.. if nobody really finds out, how am I supposed to get close to Niel? I can’t move on my own. I need help..
Nana took a glance at her phone. A text message was received. Minji asked about the script she made that was finally chosen to be made as a short movie for their class. Tomorrow should be the day they start shooting, and Minji reminded Nana to inform everybody to be at school.
“I know, Minji, I got this. I’m the director, remember…” Nana whispered to herself. She typed a short message to Niel and sent it.
It didn’t take long for Niel to reply. Nana slid her phone open, and read her inbox.
From : Niel
I’m not sure if I can come, but I’ll work on it. I just fell of my bike when I was riding home.
“What?!”
Nana quickly typed a reply. Are you hurt anywhere? Are you okay? Is it severe? You know you don’t have to come to school if you don’t feel like it, she typed.
From : Niel
I have several wounds but my waist hurts the most. I think I can still do the shooting tomorrow. An old man helped me home so I guess I am okay.
Nana sighed and threw herself on her bed. “Get well soon, Niel,” she whispered.
~~~~~

The class was filled with exciting stories and laughter from Nana, Minji, Eunji and others. They were sharing stories about their classes, silly students and how they face their teachers.

“Oh I heard your class is going to do the shooting today?” asked Eunji.

Nana nodded. “Yeah it should be today but I’m not sure if we will…” Nana slipped her phone inside her pocket, she just texted Niel whether he’s coming in or not. “Niel had an accident yesterday.”

The girls looked at Nana. “Yeah, a motorcycle accident. I don’t know how it happened, though.”

Suddenly the door opened. Niel came in with handsaplasts on his head, his elbow, and his fingers. His glasses changed. He looked simply fine and wasn’t moody at all.

“Hey Niel! What happened to you, a kid from another school beaten you up?”

“You got into a fight?”

Niel smirked. “Shut up, I fell from my bike!”

Eunji looked at Niel in disbelief. She looked shock. Nana had this yearning face of hers. Both of them carefully listened to Niel as he explained how he got into an accident. He was in full speed and hit the road’s separator, got threw away from his bike and was dragged on the road.

“Lucky he survived,” whispered Minji.

Nana glared at Minji.

“Don’t look at me like that! I ride a bike on my own, and it’s rare that people survive after going through something like that. I couldn’t believe if last night we all got texts saying that Niel died…”

“Shut up, will you! Don’t say such things,” Nana lowered her voice after she realized Eunji was listening.

“Good thing he still looks happy and cheerful,” Nana said to herself.

~~~~~
Nana went back inside class just when the bell rang. She sat on her chair and opened her binder, checking the script and things that would be needed for the shooting, which is in about one and a half hour.
“Let’s go home, let’s go home,” mumbled Niel while entering the class and heading for his desk to get his bag.
Nana immediately turned around. “You’re going home?”
“Yeah, guess so, why?” asked Niel in an innocent i-don’t-know-what’s-happening face.
Nana stood up. “I thought we were going to do our shooting?”
“Well.. I feel like I should..”
“You said last night that you were fine and okay. Now you’re saying you’re GOING HOME? Damn, Niel. Our teacher already prepared all the properties we need. If you plan to go home now, you should have skipped school since morning!”
The class went silent and looked at Nana. She was.. furious and upset. Niel didn’t had a chance to defense himself, Nana rushed out of class and dialed her teacher’s number.
“Nana!”
Nana ignored and kept whispering. “Pick it up, Miss. Pick it up.”
Unfortunately Nana didn’t make the call and went back into class. She glared at Niel before she sat back on her chair feeling so pissed.
“Nana!”
Minji and Hyerin looked at Nana. Both of them knew if Nana is upset, you shouldn’t talk to her, or else.
“Nana, the shooting is after this hour, right? Okay I’ll stay. Don’t be mad,” said Niel. He received another ignorance.
“Nana!”
Nana threw the script to Niel. “Memorize your lines.”
~~~~~

“Look, I win again. Let’s quit playing this, I’m too expert for it,” Niel threw his cards on the table.

“Don’t be such a snob. At least we should give Chunji a chance to win. He never wins.”

“Yeah at least let me win T_T”

Niel gathered all the cards and shuffled them. “Fine. Another round.”

“And.. CUT!”

Nana walked over to the guys’ table and handed them the script. “Next one is this scene, where you guys have to..”

Minji and Hyerin looked at Nana seriously. “You know, as a director, she’s quite a loud one. And bossy,” said Hyerin.

“Directors should be bossy,” replied Minji. “Hey did you get that scene on the camera?”

Hyerin shook her head and smiled while she continued writing notes. She was the music director and she got no job for that day.

“Stop being so whiny, Niel. I don’t even know why Minji chose you as the male lead anyway. You are… hard to handle,” complained Nana, replied by a smirk on Niel’s face.

“Minji makes me look like a thief. Why must I be the one who loves to steal people’s things?” Niel carefully read the script and memorized his parts.

“As Minji, I’m just a director,” Nana waited for Niel to be done then she snatched away the script.

“Okay next one. Scene three, shot one, take one… action!”

~~~~~
Nana looked at her wristwatch. 6:20am. Usually Niel comes at this hour, but he hasn’t show up. Nana continued chatting with her friends and stopped when she felt her handphone vibrating.
From : Niel
Nana, I’m not going to school today, gotta rest. Please tell the teachers.
Nana made a slight smile.
Will do. Get well soon, Niel ^^
“Niel’s not coming to school. No wonder, he just had an accident and did the shooting straight away. He deserves to have a day off,” said Nana in a low voice to Hyerin.
Nana spent the day with a plain mood. If she’s a sim, her aspiration is green. A day without Niel’s annoying voice and without his presence, just makes it a minus to Nana. It was finally 2 hours to school’s end when she decided to text Niel.
Since you’re currently at home, why don’t you try to shoot your crying scene alone?
Nana tapped on her table waiting for a reply. Then her phone vibrated.
From : Niel
How about we delete the crying scene? =)
Nana pouted and typed vigorously.
I WANT a crying scene and I don’t want any changes.
From : Niel
Make it implicit, please?? =)
Nana kept her pouting face.
I want you to cry, please?? =)
It took more than minute for Nana to get a reply.
From : Niel
Okay then I’ll shoot it myself at home, but tomorrow. Oh, we still have an outdoor shooting tomorrow, right? Which bus stop are we going to use? Not the one in front of our school please, Nana =)
T_T is how Nana’s face looked like.
Why? You don’t want your crush to see you?
Nana had her head on her desk and her fingers tapping on her book.
From : Niel
No, it’s not like that. It’s just that people will laugh at me and tease me.. how about a different bus stop? =)
“Why does he always have to use the same smiley over and over again!” whined Nana. Hyerin looked at her and gave a what’s-happening eye stare.
Whatever. Deal with our teacher then. You’re just an actor, why are you the one who keeps asking for something.
Niel replied fast. Nana slid her phone open, and a smirk was drawn on her face.
From : Niel
Aw, Nana don’t be mad. Okay we’ll use the bus stop in front of our school. Don’t be mad, okay
Nana laughed softly and told both Hyerin and Minji about it. Kyungmi silently listened to their convo. Nana purposely didn’t reply Niel’s text, and surprisingly he texted her once again.
From : Niel
Nana, don’t be angry =)
